Conus Marmoreus   3" - 3 ½"

Marble cone seashells are thick and robust. They're black, brown and white with a marble pattern.

Conus marmoreus mollusks prowl the coral sands and rubble of the Indo-Pacific Province, from the Western Indian Ocean's fringes to the teeming Coral Triangle between Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea. Inhabiting shallow tropical waters (0–15 meters) with sandy substrates, it preys voraciously on fellow marine mollusks—including its own kin—via a venomous, harpoon-like radula tooth, a biomechanical feat that yields conotoxins now pivotal in neuropharmacological research for pain management and beyond. Sustainably harvested and ethically prepared.

I researched before buying a variety of shells for my mother on her birthday. You never know what you are sending exactly until it arrives. Well the shells from NSSC were perfect. Packaged so well they arrived unbroken and wrapped individually so each one was a treat to unwrap. My mom said it was the best present yet and some of the shells she hadn't seen since she was a child living in Key West and St. Simon's Island. Very pleased and would recommend!
